JPL Section 348, Avionic Equipment collections deals with the engineering research, designing and manufacturing of computer, electric and mechanical components for various spacecraft such as Viking, Galileo and Cassini. Some of the major components designed and built by the Section were Dry Readout Inertial Reference Unit (DRIRU) 2 for Mars-Pathfinder, Stepping Motors, Gyro Systems, Dynamic Torque Calibration Unit (DTCU), Actuators, Scan Platform, Magnetic Suspension Systems, Optical Control Units, Electronic Circuit Boards, various Motor Assemblies and a great number of other devices.
